ARMENIA ATTEMPTS TO REGULARIZE GAS DELIVERIES.

The Armenianauthorities have reached agreement with both Turkmenistan andGeorgia to regularize gas deliveries to Yerevan, Armenian mediareported August 16. Earlier, Armenia had had to pay Turkmenistanfor gas delivered to the Georgian border even if the Georgiansthen took the gas out of the pipeline for their own use. Now,Armenia will make the same payments but Georgians will have topay a fine if they use gas not intended for them. There is noindication in the press reports of how this accord will be enforced.
