Kazak military officials are trying to broker a $90 million dealto sell SA-10 surface-to-air missiles to Iran over the objectionsof the U.S. government, The Washington Times reported yesterday.A former Kazak defense minister and several officials in Kazakstan’smilitary intelligence are said to be involved. The paper saidthat the U.S. government had sent two notes protesting the deal.The Iranians have reportedly already paid for the missiles.
