RUSSIA AND UKRAINE TO RESUME TALKS ON STRATEGIC BOMBERS.

Publication: Monitor Volume: 3 Issue: 60

The chiefs of the Russian and Ukrainian Air Forces are meeting today in Moscow to try to agree on the terms by which Ukraine will turn over to Russia at least some of the 40 strategic bombers it inherited from the USSR. These include 19 Tu-160 Blackjack supersonic bombers. Previously, Russia has offered to excuse part of Ukraine’s debt or to trade other military aircraft and spare parts for the bombers.
