Russian foreign minister Andrei Kozyrev was pressed by Secretary of State Warren Christopher in private talks September 26 to explain Moscow’s continued resistance to U.S. demands that it end nuclear cooperation with Iran. The issue will be on the agenda of President Boris Yeltsin’s October meeting with President Bill Clinton in New York on the fringes of the United Nations’ 50th anniversary celebration.
