Swedish Foreign Minister Lena Hjelm-Wallen announced yesterday that that government has approved a plan to deliver Swedish-made military equipment to the Baltic States. Some of the equipment will be delivered gratis, and the rest for a symbolic price. The planned supplies include antitank and antiaircraft weapons and some armored personnel carriers. Sweden is also supplying Bill antitank missile systems to the three states’ joint Baltic Battalion (BaltBat) under a plan approved by Stockholm last December. Sweden has already handed over some coastal guard cutters to the Baltic states. (BNS, February 10)
