UKRAINIAN-SLOVAK MILITARY-INDUSTRIAL AGREEMENT SIGNED.

Ukrainian military officials accompanying Minister of Defense Valery Shmarov to Slovakia signed April 3 with Slovak counterparts a protocol on bilateral military-industrial cooperation. The sides will jointly develop certain types of military equipment, including aviation components, and will place orders with each other’s military plants. (Interfax-Ukraine, April 3) Ukraine’s new neighbor Slovakia inherited a large part of the former Czechoslovakia’s massive military industry, as did Ukraine from the ex-USSR. Both countries currently seek to revitalize their underutilized military plants.
