MOSCOW UPBEAT ON ARMS EXPORTS.

Russia is now the second largest exporter of arms in the world, according to the deputy director of Rosvooruzhenie, the Russian state arms exporting company. Oleg Sidorenko said that Rosvooruzhenie alone would have sales of about $3.5 billion for 1996 when final figures are in at the end of the month. Zinovy Pak, minister of defense industry, reported that Russian arms exports exceeded $3 billion last year and would triple within the next few years. (Interfax, January 6)
