Jean-Loup Samaan

Jean-Loup is a researcher at the NATO Defense College (Rome, Italy). He holds a PhD in political science from the University of Paris - La Sorbonne and has been a visiting scholar at the RAND Corporation and Duke University. From 2008 to 2011, he served as a policy adviser for the Directorate for Strategy Affairs of the French Ministry of Defense. He writes on Middle East strategic affairs, with special focus on regional security cooperation in the Persian Gulf and the Israel-Hezbollah standoff.
