Olena Snigyr
Olena Snigyr is the leading analyst at the Center for International Studies in the Hennadiy Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine. From 2001 to 2017, she worked at the National Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of Ukraine. Ms. Snigyr directed the Foreign Policy Department at NISS in 2008-2011 and the Europe Section in the Foreign Policy Department in 2011-2013. In 2015-2017, she was a chief consultant at the Research Center for Russian Federation Problems at NISS. Ms. Snigyr obtained her PhD in Political Science in 2004. Her doctoral research examined the development of foreign policy approaches of the Western European countries toward Ukraine in the 20th century. Her most recent publications include analysis of Russia’s foreign policy, specifically its interventionism and undisclosed methods of influence, security issues in Europe, the latest developments in Ukrainian foreign policy, and perspectives in the development of the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
