Editor’s Note: For this issue, the Terrorism Monitor is focusing on Central Asia. All of the articles and the interview featured in this special edition recognize the potential of Islamic extremism in the form of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan and the Hizb ut-Tahrir party to destabilize the area. While our authors differ on the probability of future unrest in the region, they would likely all agree that much will depend on the actions of the local governments.
