BEREZOVSKY FILM AIRS IN UNITED STATES.

On April 24, the American premiere of the Berezovsky-sponsored film “Assassination [attempt] against Russia,” which focuses on the so-called Ryazan episode of September 1999, was held at the Kennan Institute of the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, DC. Following this showing, others were then held at Columbia University and Harvard University (announced in Kommersant, April 19). Grani.ru reported on April 25 that some 250 people had attended the premiere. Noted human rights activist Elena Bonner introduced the film. Afterwards, a debate was held between Duma deputy Sergei Yushenkov (who defended the film) and political scientist Sergei Markov (who criticized it). Kennan Institute director Blair Ruble presented the two debaters.
