HITCH ABOARD RUSSIAN SPACE STATION.

There was another problem aboard Russia’s troubled Mir space station yesterday as two Russian cosmonauts were unable fully to complete a rewiring job in the station’s airless Spektr module, despite nearly seven hours of effort. The ship’s commander complained that Russian ground control had sent an incorrectly sized wrench for the job. Russian officials at mission control downplayed the problem, however, and told reporters that the work that was completed would boost electric power on the station by 30 percent over the next two days.
