PAKISTAN TO AID KYRGYZ MILITARY.

A Pakistani military delegation headed by the armed forces’ Chief of Staff, General Hussein Shah, is completing today a three-day visit to Kyrgyzstan where it met with defense minister Myrzak Subanov and other commanding officers and visited military units. According to a senior Kyrgyz officer, the Pakistanis offered assistance ranging from supply of uniforms to military training. The delegation also expressed interest in using an ex-Soviet airbase in Kyrgyzstan for training Pakistani airmen. (Interfax, July 24)
