TWO ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH MANEVICH MURDER.

Police in St. Petersburg have arrested two left-wing activists. The pair has reportedly confessed both to the August assassination of the deputy mayor of St. Petersburg, Mikhail Manevich, and to causing an explosion earlier this month at a naval ammunition depot in Primorsky Krai. The two, who have been identified as Sergei Maksimenko and Valery Sklyar, are said to be members of the Revolutionary Military Council of the RSFSR (Revvoensovet). They are also being questioned in connection with the blowing up in April of a monument to Tsar Nicholas II in a village near Moscow and the planting of explosives at a statue of Peter the Great on an island in the Moscow River in July.
