YELTSIN: PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS MUST GO AHEAD.

Russia’s parliamentary elections, thrown into doubt by a challenge to the electoral law, must go ahead on December 17 as planned, President Boris Yeltsin said on Wednesday. State Duma speaker Ivan Rybkin said that the presidential election should also take place as scheduled next June. (1)
