The Kremlin property office, which manages the billions of dollars in assets that once belonged to the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, thinks the Kremlin name has good brand equity that should generate a nice return. Office director Vladimir Kozhin told a U.S. business audience that he plans to build “Kremlin Complex” on Red Square, an office tower that will house a hotel, a museum, and auction houses and trading exchanges for precious stones and metals, jewelry and antiques. Kozhin earlier announced plans for a chain of “Kremlevskie” stores to sell products made by Kremlin-owned enterprises. Foreign investment is welcomed.
