On December 7, Jamestown Foundation Senior Fellow Olevs Nikers was interviewed by Al-Jazeera regarding the Latvian government’s decision to shutter Rain TV.
“Latvia was occupied by Russia and thousands of Latvians were killed under the Soviet regime. A large proportion of Russian minorities in Latvia, largely due to the Kremlin’s disinformation campaigns, are still disloyal to the Latvian state.”
