PACE SCHEDULES MORE HUMANITARIAN TALKS.

On January 10, the official Russian news agency Itar-Tass reported that a delegation led by Tadeusz Iwinksi of Poland, a co-rapporteur of the Commission on Migration, Refugees and Demography of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), was due to arrive in Moscow on January 13. The aim of this visit was to study the humanitarian situation in Chechnya. The delegation planned to visit the Karabulak and Bart refugee camps in Ingushetia and the Severny camp in Chechnya. The visit was to occur on the eve of a session of PACE scheduled to open in Strasbourg on January 21 to discuss, once again, the situation in Chechnya.
