PERSONNEL CHANGES IN RUSSIAN GOVERNMENT.

President Boris Yeltsin yesterday sacked Minister of Culture Yevgeny Sidorov and replaced him with Natalya Dementeva. No immediate reason for Sidorov’s dismissal was provided. Yeltsin also named career diplomat Anatoly Adamishin, until recently Russian ambassador to Great Britain, as minister for cooperation with the CIS states. The post has been vacant since July 1; the former minister, Aman Tuleev, managed to fall out with almost all the other CIS states during his time in the post. (ORT, RTR, August 28)
