The Washington Post’s July 20 editorial on Moldova’s recent parliamentary elections cites a recent article in Eurasia Daily Monitor by Jamestown Senior Fellow, Vladimir Socor, who points out that the Kremlin’s apparent withdrawal of support for the Socialist Party of former president Igor Dodon had helped the pro-European faction of Maia Sandu achieve a resounding victory at the polls.
