TALBOTT TO MOSCOW.

The U.S. State Department announced that Deputy Secretary of State Strobe Talbott will go to Moscow this week in an effort to mollify Russian concerns over NATO’s increasingly combative role in Bosnia. Secretary of State Warren Christopher said there was nothing unusual about Talbott’s mission. "Deputy Secretary Talbott meets regularly with Russians, and this seemed to be a good time to compare notes on this very important issue where we have so much in common — that is the desire to achieve a peaceful settlement and to make the point that it is up to the Bosnian Serbs to take the steps necessary to bring this bombing campaign to an end."
