CLINTON, YELTSIN EXCHANGE LETTERS ON BOSNIA.

Presidents Clinton and Yeltsin exchanged letters in which each reportedly stressed the need for both countries to cooperate in bringing an end to the strife in Bosnia. Meanwhile, Russian foreign minister Kozyrev expressed indignation over what he believes was a secret UN-NATO deal which, behind Russia’s back, gave NATO the green light for military action in Bosnia. But in comments to reporters, Kozyrev adopted a newly conciliatory tone on the conflict between Russia and the West over Bosnia. (For analysis, see "In Perspective" item below)
