Publication: Monitor Volume: 2 Issue: 132
Boris Yeltsin appeared on Russian television yesterday to thank voters for his sweeping election victory. Looking relaxed and apparently recovered from his recent bout of sickness, the newly elected president said the country should not be divided into winners and losers. Hinting that a coalition government might be on the cards, he promised to appoint a new administration with "room for all." Before the election, Yeltsin had rejected that idea.
