GANTAMIROV APPOINTED DEPUTY PREMIER.

At a session of the pro-Moscow Chechen government held on February 13, Bislan Gantamirov, a former mayor of Djohar (Grozny) and, until recently, a federal inspector in the Southern Federal District, was presented as a new deputy premier of Chechnya and also as the new minister for the affairs of the press, television and radio, and the mass media (Kavkaz.strana.ru, February 13). The following day Russian presidential representative in the Southern District Viktor Kazantsev officially confirmed Gantamirov in his new posts (Presscenter.ru, February 14).
