Publication: Monitor Volume: 3 Issue: 76
Two more Su-30K jet fighters were airlifted to India this week. So far eight of the planes have been delivered, ending the first stage of a multi-billion dollar contract for 40 of the modern aircraft. Ultimately they will all be converted to the Su-30MKI configuration, with forward canard control surfaces and vectored-thrust engines. The first prototype of the Su-30MKI has been built by Sukhoi and will begin flight tests in May. (Interfax, April 16, Aviation Week and Space Technology, April 14)
