Publication: Monitor Volume: 3 Issue: 91
The Russian Communist Party is planning to picket the embassies of NATO countries today, eve of the Victory Day holiday. Party leader Gennady Zyuganov said yesterday that the party remains totally opposed to NATO expansion and that Russia should respond by uniting with Belarus and other CIS countries. Zyuganov predicted that 300,000 to 400,000 Communist supporters will take part in the Victory Day military parade planned for May 9 in Red Square. (Itar-Tass, May 7)
