Vechernyaya Moskva reported May 11 that the centraltailors shop in Moscow was preparing a marshal’s uniform for Defense MinisterPavel Grachev. This report, that the defense minister anticipated beingpromoted to the highest rank in the Russian army, was promptly denied by theRussian defense ministry press office.
