According to an Armenian news agency report citing unnamed Yerevan officials, Armenian military representatives recently held talks in Damascus on military cooperation between Armenia and Syria, a country hostile to Turkey. (Noyan-Tapan, September 4). This report is not known to have been corroborated by other sources. Armenia recently signed military cooperation agreements with Greece and Bulgaria as part of an apparently growing rapprochement with countries historically unfriendly to Turkey.
