Publication: Monitor Volume: 5 Issue: 45

Azerbaijan, sharing kinship ties with Turkey, had embarked somewhat earlier than Georgia on military cooperation with that NATO country. Azerbaijan has now gone a step further. The Azerbaijani platoon would serve as a component of a Turkish battalion under NATO operational command. Latvia has also offered a platoon for Kosovo duty (Turan, March 1; AzadInform, March 4).
