BRITISH SPY ROW CLOSED…

Publication: Monitor Volume: 2 Issue: 103

Britain’s trade secretary said yesterday in Moscow that London considers its recent spy wrangle with Russia to be a thing of the past, and that the incident will in no way affect Russian-British relations. His remarks, which followed the third session of the Russian-British Committee on Trade and Investments, were reported to have been seconded by Russia’s foreign minister. Meanwhile, Moscow sources were said to confirm that the Russian national suspected of spying for Britain was a career diplomat and the son of a Russian ambassador to a European country.
