DUMA DOINGS:

The State Duma, the lower house of Russia’s parliament, postponed its debate on impeachment of President Yeltsin to mid-May. The president reacted angrily, saying parliament should either get on with it or get off it. Even though Yeltsin’s opponents easily dominate the Duma, they might not have mustered the two thirds needed to move impeachment to the Federation Council, parliament’s upper house…. The Duma also passed a non-binding resolution urging the acceptance of Yugoslavia into the still unconsummated Russia-Belarus Union. Yugoslavia’s federal parliament approved adherence to the Russia-Belarus Union two weeks ago.
