The EU officials also told thenews service that the EU and Ukraine had made progress in resolvingtheir differences over the funding of the closure of Chernobyl,but the officials refused to provide any information on the amountof money involved. Ukraine has asked for $4 billion to close thetroubled plant; European officials have been unwilling to offeranything close to that amount in the past.
