GRACHEV TO VISIT NORWAY.

Norway’s Defense Ministry announced yesterday that Russian defense minister Pavel Grachev has accepted an invitation to attend a meeting of Nordic defense chiefs in Norway May 20-21. The agenda reportedly will include the future of the peace Implementation Force in Bosnia, NATO enlargement, planned Partnership for Peace exercises, and defense cooperation between the Nordic countries and the three Baltic States. The Russian and Norwegian defense ministers are to travel to the Kola Peninsula after the meeting to discuss Russian nuclear waste stored near the Norwegian border. (AFP, April 29)
