MEXICO TO BUY RUSSIAN HELICOPTERS?

A Mexican newspaper yesterday quoted an unnamed government source as saying that the country’s armed forces intend to sign a contract soon for the purchase of 12 Russian Mi-8 helicopters. The source added that restrictions placed on the sale of U.S. military hardware to Mexico by the U.S. Congress had been an important factor in the decision to buy the Russian aircraft.
