MOSCOW DENIES NERVE GAS CHARGE.

Publication: Monitor Volume: 3 Issue: 85

A Russian government official on April 24 denied an accusation that Russia was connected to the deadly 1995 nerve gas attack on a Tokyo subway by Japan’s Aum Shinri Kyo cult. A day earlier a cult leader testified that former Russian Security Council secretary Oleg Lobov had supplied the group with information on how to manufacture the gas. The official’s remarks notwithstanding, the Russian Prosecutor-General’s office said on April 25 that it would summon Lobov for questioning. (Itar-Tass, April 24)
