Austrian chancellor Viktor Klima, together with a large delegation from Austria’s business community, is in Moscow today for talks with Russian government leaders. In addition to the promotion of economic cooperation between the two countries, the talks are expected to focus on relations between Russia and the European Union. The two sides will also likely raise the issue of NATO’s enlargement and its role as Europe’s premier security organization. Moscow has looked with disfavor on the prospect of Austria seeking NATO membership. (Itar-Tass, October 27, 29)
