REGIONS MEET TO COORDINATE POLICY.

Representatives from 30 of Russia’s regions met in Astrakhan last week to talk about both improving stability in their home areas, and about regulating their relations with Moscow, Delovoy mir reported May 31. The paper indicated that the meeting was dominated by the eight regional associations that have been formed from below, and which have often challenged Moscow’s authority.
