Rosvooruzheniye director Aleksandr Kotelkin told Segodnya April 29 that the Russian Federation would earn “at least” $2.5 billion from the sale of arms abroad in 1995, up from $1.7 billion last year. According to Kotelkin, 60 percent of these sales will go to Southeast Asia and the Middle East. He claimed that all this was good for Russia: such contracts will create 835,000 jobs in the military-industrial complex over the next three years.
