Delegations headed by Russian deputy foreign minister Georgy Mamedov and his British counterpart, Kevin Tebbit, held consultations in Moscow yesterday on a broad range of European security issues, including disarmament, the elimination of weapons of mass destruction, amendments to the Conventional Forces in Europe (CFE) treaty, and cooperation between Russia and NATO. The talks followed a recent visit to Russia by British prime minister Tony Blair and come amid preparations for the next G-7 summit, scheduled for May, 1998, in Birmingham. (Itar-Tass, October 15)
