RUSSIAN DUMA IN RECESS.

The lower house of the Russian parliament has started a two-week recess and will not reconvene until May 14. (Itar-Tass, April 28) Many members of the Communist-dominated Duma plan to take part in anti-government demonstrations in Moscow and other Russian cities on May 1 and 9, traditional Soviet-era holidays which are still celebrated in Russia.
