RUSSIAN MINISTER CALLS FOR GREATER U.S. INVESTMENT.

Russia’s foreign trade minister said yesterday that American investment in Russia could increase by two to three times as a result of work done by the Gore-Chernomyrdin commission. According to Oleg Davydov, American businesses have been among the most enthusiastic investors in Russia’s economy, with total investments estimated at $2-4 billion. But that figure could be raised significantly, Davydov said. His comments come on the eve of the seventh session of the joint U.S.-Russian commission scheduled to be held in Moscow July 15-16.
