RUSSIAN SCIENTISTS WANT SKRUNDA TO SAVE THE EARTH.

Publication: Monitor Volume: 1 Issue: 2

Russian scientists have appealed to the Latvian authorities not to blow up part of the Skrunda radar site on May 5, Itar-Tass reported May 1. The scientists said that the radar could be used to track asteroids that might threaten planet earth. A more likely explanation for Russian concerns: Tass suggested the same day that blowing up the so-called “Skrunda monster” might harm the other part of the radar site there that Moscow will continue to control for three more years.
