SLOVAKIAN LEADER VISITS MOSCOW.

Slovakian Prime Minister Vladimir Meciar held two days of talks in Moscow last week during which he met with President Boris Yeltsin, Prime Minister Sergei Kirienko and Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov. Both sides proclaimed their satisfaction with the talks and with Slovakian-Russian relations in general. Meciar reached a number of agreements while in Moscow. They included one on Russian oil deliveries to Slovakia and another that aims to step up cooperation between the two countries in the area of nuclear power. The two sides also signed a cooperation agreement on tourism, an accord on cooperation between their respective Economics Ministries, a protocol on cooperation in higher education and an agreement on cooperation in agriculture. They held talks on possible cooperation in the manufacture of Russian Yak-130 and Yak-131 aircraft with Slovak engines. (Russian agencies, May 27-28)
