Publication: Monitor Volume: 1 Issue: 94

The head of the public relations office of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), Yuri Kobaladze, has denied a story published in the Washington Times last week, which stated that his service was teaching the Iranians the techniques and methods of special operations. Kobaladze said that the report was totally unfounded and a mere invention. But at the same time, Kobaladze noted that his service advocates "cooperation with the secret services of all states, if it corresponds with Russia’s national interests." (7)
