Warning that the failure of the Organization of Security and Cooperation in Europe to denounce Moscow’s actions in Chechnya would be that body’s “moral downfall,” Lithuanian parliamentarian Algirdas Endriukaitis called on the OSCE mission there to catalogue all crimes against humanity committed by the Russian army. Endrukaitis, who is chairman of the Baltic interparliamentary group to maintain contacts with Chechnya, also said that Chechen President Dzhokhar Dudayev should be represented at all talks between the OSCE mission and Russia, according to a Lithuanian foreign ministry press release May 1.
