In Kiev, Ukrainian and Western experts on Thursday extended talks on the closure of the Chernobyl nuclear power station, with negotiations focusing on a plan to extend $2.25 billion in credits and aid to the former Soviet republic. On Wednesday, a fire broke out in an office building at Ukraine’s Zaporizhya nuclear power station but firefighters put out the flames, Interfax Ukraine news agency said.
