Addressing a meeting of the North Atlantic Council yesterday, Estonian president Lennart Meri observed that the erosion of Belarus’s sovereignty "adds to the significance of Ukraine as an anchor of stability in Eastern Europe… The secret key to the West’s friendly coexistence with Russia is Kiev.
