YELTSIN EXPECTED TO LEAVE KARELIA THIS WEEK.

Russian president Boris Yeltsin is expected to leave Karelia, where he is spending a fishing holiday, at the end of this week and travel to Samara oblast on the Volga for another couple of weeks’ vacation. Prime Minister Viktor Chernomyrdin was in Karelia this morning to brief the president on the government’s work during Yeltsin’s absence. (Itar-Tass, July 15-16)
