DATE SET FOR CZAR’S BURIAL.

Kommersant-daily reports that a Russian government commission has finally settled on March 1 next year for the burial of the remains of Russia’s last czar, Nicholas II, and his family. However, a decision has still not been made as to the burial site. (AP, October 23) The newspaper says the government favors the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul in St. Petersburg, where all Russian czars since Peter the Great are interred, but officials in the Urals city of Yekaterinburg, where the imperial family was shot dead in 1918, are lobbying for the burial to take place there.
