ANOTHER SOUTH OSSETIAN LEADER TARGETED.

Publication: Monitor Volume: 1 Issue: 108

South Ossetia’s self-styled prime minister Vladislav Gabarayev survived a bomb attack against his Tskhinvali home October 4. The would-be republic’s authorities trace the attack to disputes involving present and former officials in connection with misappropriation of humanitarian aid. Gabarayev’s predecessor in that post, Oleg Teziyev left South Ossetia after being accused of major misappropriations. South Ossetia’s self-styled parliament chairman Alan Chochiyev lost his job and was arrested September 26, also on misappropriation and forgery charges. (18)
